This Dairy Queen in Lombard, IL had none of the current logos and wording. Instead it had a classic neon sign that looked retro but was actually vintage . . . not enough of this around today.

Broadway between First and Third Avenues is Nashville's main spot for live music. Every little bar and club has a stage with a never-ending supply of musicians.

Day 43 - Downtown

The Hotel Rosslyn is at 5th and Main, has two adjacent buildings, was designed by legendary Los Angeles architect John Parkinson, and was built in 1923.

Pete's is at the corner of 4th & Main, but wasn't where I ate.

Day 16 - Philippe's

Philippe's is one of the oldest restaurants in Los Angeles.

Day 15 - Felix Chevrolet

The sign for Felix Chevrolet, opened in 1957 by Winslow Felix, was designated as a cultural landmark by the City of Los Angeles in 2007.

Felix was friends with filmmaker Pat Sullivan, the creator of Felix the Cat, who authorized the use of the cartoon character for the dealership's sign.

Day 293 - I'm Back

Again, my apologies for the extended hiatus, and many thanks to those who've encouraged me to get back up on my horse and keep posting.

I pass the Safari Inn in Burbank going to and from my Friday night ball games, and it's always reminded me of something out of the 60's.

Day 252 - AT&T Park

And with this shot, we say farewell to the City by the Bay . . . and there can never be enough neon lights in the city at night.
