Day 292 - Aunt Kizzy's

Had lunch at Aunt Kizzy's Back Porch, an L.A. institution for Southern soul food. Located in the upstairs portion of a nondescript strip mall in Marina del Rey, it boasts some of the best fried chicken in all the Southland. Not that I eat it frequently enough to judge, but it was still good.

Day 291 - Temecula

I was in Temecula for a cousin's wedding; unfortunately for Cam, he was the only child there. However, he was in full imaginary mode and was able to entertain himself . . . it was a joy to watch.

Day 290 - Temecula

To me, this image says, "autumn."

Day 289 - Temecula

It's too bad most of these olives will never be harvested . . .

Day 288 - Temecula

Granny Smith are my favorite apples; these were also ready for harvest.

Day 287 - Temecula

It's past harvest, but there were still a few clusters in the vineyard.

Day 286 - People I Dig

It's a couple of weeks overdue, but Bicks is another in the multitude of departmental defectors . . . not that I blame her one bit, but she's still sorely missed, especially since the Giants are still in the MLB playoffs.

Day 285 - Cars

And I shot these on the running footage production in downtown L.A.

Day 284 - Cars

Now that the Honda CR-Z is in showrooms, I can finally post pictures I shot of it . . . in March.

This was on the still photo shoot in the studio.

Day 283 - Garden Mix

Garden flowers, wildflowers, and weeds.

Day 282 - Sunset

Somehow the satellite dishes don't exactly fit, but hey, it's L.A.

Day 281 - Playa Vista

HELP! We're being invaded by giant flowers!

Day 280 - People I Dig

Rosie, thankfully, is NOT leaving the agency, at least not yet, despite working crazy hours as an art buyer and generally making my life a little easier to handle. She popped into my office today for an impromptu happy hour.

And for all her protests, she does take good pictures, both in front of and behind the camera.

Day 279 - People I Dig

Joining the long list of people who've left my department, Alexis got an offer from her former employer that was too good to pass up.

Great for her, bad for us, especially the other TD.

Oh, and child, you have GOT to let those sneezes out. You're gonna blow a gasket one of these days...

Day 278 - People I Dig

Andy Milder is an amazing actor (Apollo 13, Frost/Nixon, Weeds) who also does voiceover work; he's currently recording all of my training pieces for the 2011 Honda Odyssey.

With all the clichéd stories of actors and talent being difficult to work with, it's refreshing to have someone like Andy break all the stereotypes and do a bang-up job, every time, all the time.

Day 277 - Rain

Given that it's been almost a week of unusually humid weather here, it shouldn't have been a surprise to have a bit of rain today.

Day 276 - Ice Cream

This salted caramel brickle gets mixed into the ice cream.

Day 275 - Ice Cream

Inspired by Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, I make a salted butter caramel, one of my sister's favorite flavors . . . here it is churning away.

Day 274 - Rainbow

2010 is three-quarters finished, and I've stuck with my self-imposed photo-a-day assignment for nine months now . . . almost as rare as seeing a rainbow in L.A.
