The Steller's jay is one of two jays common to Yosemite (the Western scrub jay being the other), but the Stellers' were surprisingly quiet for jays.

Day 23 - Redondo Beach

I'd like to say it's my remarkable skill as a photographer that I got this gull in perfect mid-flight across the sun, but that's hooey. Luck, plain and simple . . . that's all it is.

It wasn't a completely white Christmas, but this house sparrow was enjoying breakfast.

Day 257 - Santa Monica

H-Mac and I recently went shooting down on the Santa Monica Pier.

Day 226 - Roadrunner

The 805 Girl dislikes the native roadrunners eating all the lizards in her yard, as the lizards eat the insects on her garden plants.

Day 224 - Bluebird

Larger than most of the ones I've seen.

Day 43 - Bonaire

Bonaire has tropical birds, like flamingos and parrots, sea birds like pelicans and frigate birds, and land birds like this Yellow Oriole.
