Nashville Sounds

The Nashville Sounds are the Triple-A minor league affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, and play their home games in historic Herschel Greer Stadium. Built in 1978 on the site of the Civil War's Fort Negley, it's best known for its guitar-shaped scoreboard in left field.

Not only was it Opening Night when we visited, but it was also Throwback Thursday, which meant hot dogs and beers were only $2, which unfortunately also meant a huge influx of college students from nearby Vanderbilt University and long lines at the concession stands.

Minor league baseball is pure Americana, and is one my favorite things to do in a new city. It's accessible, affordable, and just plain fun...
