Day 365 - Completion
Almost 400 photos later, I've completed my photo-a-day assignment for an entire year. Beginning 2010 with images from the San Diego Wild Animal Park, I'm ending it with a sheep yawning. Anticlimactic? Yeah, probably. Let's see if 2011 is more exciting . . .

The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite holiday movies, and Jack Skellington is one of the most unlikely Christmas heroes.

The Sentinel's Creed
My dedication to this sacred duty
is total and whole-hearted.
In the responsibility bestowed on me
never will I falter.
And with dignity and perseverance
my standard will remain perfection.
Through the years of diligence and praise
and the discomfort of the elements,
I will walk my tour in humble reverence
to the best of my ability.
It is he who commands the respect I protect,
his bravery that made us so proud.
Surrounded by well meaning crowds by day,
alone in the thoughtful peace of night,
this soldier will in honored glory rest
under my eternal vigilance.

Day 313 - Arlington National Cemetery
I was at Arlington with well over 100 members of the Society of the Honor Guard - Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a group of former and current Tomb Guards, of which I'm proud to be an honorary member. We were in the cemetery before it was open to the public for a private wreath and rose laying ceremony at the Tomb.
