While doing some post-production work this week in Hollywood, I noticed this view of the Griffith Observatory from my parking garage.

Oxidized copper just isn't used as a building material enough anymore. This is on the top of the Griffith Observatory.

All around the Astronomers' Monument are the planetary orbits.

Day 2 - Griffith Observatory

The obelisk in the center of the observatory's front courtyard is flanked by the great astronomers of history - Kepler, Newton, and here in profile, Copernicus.
